LOCK, Edith (I12455)

691 Aged 94 years on death registration placing birth circa 1843.

Given that there are a number of Charlotte Martin's all christened at Maidstone around the 1842 mark, her marriage certificate is going to have to be seen in the hopes that one or more of the witnesses are related to her. Her father's name is likely going to be James and there are two James Martin's that christen a Charlotte at Maidstone within a year of each other. So the witnesses on the marriage are going to be critical to resolving the question of Charlotte's parentage.

697 Alexander Duff also obtained his freedom and rights and became a burgess of Edinburgh by right of his father, James Duff, a clock and watchmaker. Although as of January 13, 2004, I still have not discovered the mother of James, Alexander's son, I have picked up what appears to be a second marriage for Alexander, vizt: Alexander Duff, culter of Old Kirk parish and Elizabeth, daughter of Nathan Paterson, a glover, Elizabeth also of Old Kirk parish, married 25 Mar 1786.

DUFF, Alexander (I249)

698 Alexander is standing as a proxy father for John Bickle who is confirmed as the father of Tristram and further confirmed as residing in the parish of Beaworthy in 1678 at the collection of monies. Sadly, the pre-Restoration era parish registers for this parish are largely lost but a small volume of extracts of remaining registers list this baptism of Alexander to John and Ester Bickle. BICKLE, Alexander (I12532)

699 Alexander was licensee of the Park Tavern in Faversham from 1905 through 1926. MILSTED, Alexander (I2698)

700 Alfred Friend was born on 16 March 1865. He seems to have been weakly and to have had something wrong with his spine which caused his lower limbs to contract. He died aged 20 on 9 April 1885 of acute bronchitis. He was living with his parents at 21 Blenheim Road, Deal. John was retired by this time. KENNETT, Alfred Friend (I4784)
